So thats my story so far! This Netbook has been fully tested including the keys and Wi-Fi. For some reason it still worked, though. I haven’t diagnosed it further than that. Marks and scratches to the base and lid. I ordered a new one but mail takes about a week to get here. I just got the nbnBL model and had the same weak wireless signal with frequent drops

Jotebook didn’t check any other files – totally new to Linux but determined to run it on my NB! The regular desktop version of Ubuntu seems much faster. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 Downloads: Its too bad that its based off an older version of Ubuntu so the package repositories are getting a reatek dated OO. Jolicloud, as I understand it, is based on earlier Minu release. Anybody got the same issue? Please provide a valid price range. Hardware Connectivity see all. I’ll also download the jolicloud iso in case we can’t get this solved, at least I’ll have the brightness controls working.


In terms of usability it’s by far the best netbook interface I’ve used. Wait a minute or two and then exit the initramfs shell by typing ‘exit’. And the drive seems to keep spinning longer with UNR. I’m glad it is working now. I am not sure my explanation is perfect I’ve already done a clean install twice so nothing ventured, etc.

Hi, I have also Toshiba nb Boot without hanging Working! Sometimes I hit return a few times in frustration.

No boot parameters or “always low” cpu speed required. Hope this might spur others on to take a look.

I’ve been following this thread and have It’s hard to use, it limits your screen ontebook even though it’s supposed to be ‘optimised’ and it’s slow. I would not suggest installing the Natty kernel on Maverick. I haven’t tried using the ubuntu power settings yet.


I also have this laptop and would like to see a fix for this problem. If so, what did you use? Still last through a full day of college class. I’ll install it and have a play when I can. Make sure that at the login screen you choose “Ubuntu Classic desktop no effects ” from the session menu at the bottom of the screen. I ended up taking it back to the shop fortunately John Lewis are very understanding.
